Singing and Worship
*Music is an integral part of the weekend, including a worship and communion service on Saturday evening followed by an Agape celebration
*Every LOG has a theme song and theme Bible verse chosen by the two student Co-Leaders
Small Group Sharing
*Students will be placed in small groups with both first-time Participants and Leadership Team members to share and pray after each talk
*No one is ever forced to share, only encouraged in a safe and accepting environment
*Small groups will remain the same throughout the entire weekend for comfort and reassurance
Themed Meal Times
*Meals are eaten together in the Dining Hall, prepared by the LOG Moms and served by the college-aged Kitchen Crew so we can eat and get to know each other with decorations, dress-up clothes, and even food that goes with the theme
*Past Meal themes include decades, movies, TV shows, and holidays
WHERE AND WHEN IS L.O.G.?
* St. Vincent DePaul Circle V Ranch Camp, up highway 154 across from Lake Cachuma, only about a 30-minute drive from Santa Barbara
* Retreats are held in March and November of every year
WHAT L.O.G. IS NOT:
* A church or youth group: it is a supplemental youth retreat program, and we encourage LOGgers to be involved with their own youth group and attend church on Sundays; if students do not have a home church, LOG is sponsored by Goleta Presbyterian Church where all are welcome, or students can go to church or youth group with other LOGgers (at least 10 different local churches are represented each LOG retreat)
*An exclusive program: ANYONE in high school may attend a LOG retreat, from any church or no church: all high school students are welcome!
HOW DO I ATTEND A L.O.G. RETREAT OR FIND OR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT LOG?
*All first-time Participants must fill out a Participant Application, Medical Release form, and pay a fee of $100 to help with food, supplies, and camp costs (scholarships available and donations welcome)
*For more information, contact: Warren and Elisa Takaya, LOG Directors (use the Contact tab on this website)
